About

Michael Salchert

I am a multimedia contemporary artist exploring the mysteries of the universe and human consciousness through artistic expression. My process brings meaning and abstract form to concepts from nature, the microcosm and macrocosm, spirituality, and raising consciousness.  I am currently an artist residing in Loveland, CO and has lived in Colorado for nearly 20 years.  I have a BA in Art from the University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point, and a MA degree in Transpersonal Counseling and Art Therapy from Naropa University, in Boulder, CO.  I have studied Art in London, England, as well as traveling extensively throughout Europe.  My work is heavily influenced by my studies in Native American Spirituality, Science, Buddhism, and Christianity.

Artist Statement

My work focuses on patterns in nature and the universe, exploring space from the cellular to the cosmic.  All things in the universe grow infinitely smaller and infinitely larger the closer you observe them.  Everything is comprised of energy and vibration.  Certain vibrations and frequencies can bring about positive growth and change, within the environment and within ourselves.  If we can raise our vibration and resonate on a higher frequency might we not be able to expand our consciousness and consciously evolve?  We can manifest a positive reality for ourselves and for the world.  In the ever expanding universe all things are connected and related.  The Earth we walk on, the stones, the water, the animals, even the air we breathe is part of who we are, and we are part of it.  Our existence depends on being in community and knowing that we are all related.  If we treat all things on the planet as sacred with care and respect, we also take care of ourselves in the process.
